Trying to make the most of the last full month of summer? Want a few local plans that feel more interesting than another ordinary beach day? Huntington Beach and Seal Beach have a strong lineup of events in August 2026, including the Lexus US Open of Surfing, Bier Fest at Old World Village, Seal Beach National Night Out, the final summer concert at Eisenhower Park, and Surfin’ Sundays at Pier Plaza.
A few major fall events are already on the calendar too, so now is a good time to start planning.
Catch the Final Days of the US Open of Surfing
The Lexus US Open of Surfing runs through August 2 on the beach south of the Huntington Beach Pier.
The event is free to attend and includes professional surfing, live music, food, games, demonstrations, and athlete appearances. The area around the pier and downtown Huntington Beach will be busy, so arriving early gives you more time to find a good viewing spot and enjoy the day without feeling rushed.
Spend an Afternoon at Bier Fest
Old World Village hosts Bier Fest from August 8 through 16 in Huntington Beach.
Admission is free, and the event is open to all ages. German-style food, imported beer, live music, and family entertainment give the festival a cheerful weekend feel. It works well for friends, couples, or families who want a relaxed afternoon with plenty going on.
Make an Evening of National Night Out
Seal Beach National Night Out takes place Tuesday, August 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Eisenhower Park near the pier.
Hosted by the Seal Beach Police Department, the event gives residents a chance to meet local officers and spend time with neighbors in a relaxed setting. Main Street is only a short walk away, so dinner or dessert beforehand is an easy way to turn it into a full evening out.
Enjoy One More Summer Concert
The final Seal Beach Summer Concert is scheduled for Wednesday, August 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Eisenhower Park.
Bring a blanket or low chair and settle in for live music near the water. Guests should not leave chairs or personal belongings unattended before 4 p.m., so plan to arrive closer to the start time.
Browse Surfin’ Sundays at Pier Plaza
Surfin’ Sundays returns to Huntington Beach Pier Plaza on August 22 and 23.
The Surf City Marketplace will be open both days with artists, vendors, clothing, and beach-inspired finds. Live instrumental surf music is scheduled for Sunday. Sunscreen and a chair are worth bringing if you plan to stay for the afternoon.
Save a Few Fall Dates
Old World Village’s Oktoberfest begins September 6 and runs through November 8. The Pacific Airshow follows from October 2 through 4 along the Huntington Beach coastline.
These events are part of what makes life in Huntington Beach and Seal Beach so enjoyable. A concert near the pier, a community night, or an afternoon festival can give you a fresh reason to explore the area and enjoy more of the local lifestyle.
